Over the years I discovered it's all about me. That statement may turn some people off. What I discovered that if I am not a better me how can I help you become a better you?! For me to be able to help "YOU" I have to be the "best" me I can be!
We are taught to do everything for everyone else. That is the nice thing to do. However, then we sit in the corner suffering because we have given it all away that does not make sense! Does that make us noble or does it make us broke?
I was flying the other day and the flight attendant said, "when the oxygen masks drop please put it over your face first. If you have a child with you or an adult acting like a child, still put the oxygen over your face first!" We all laughed, however, it got me thinking. Most people around me are putting the oxygen mask on everyone else, and I use to be the same way. Meanwhile, we are starving for oxygen and we haven't really helped anyone around us. People use to ask me what I wanted to do when I grew up and I told them I wanted to help people. I meet poor people who always tell me they want to help people, but guess what, they can't even help themselves. You see... that is why it is "all about me." If it wasn't I couldn't help YOU!
I moved to Colorado in 1983 just months after my husband and I were married. We moved to Colorado in hopes to raise a family and 32 years later we have done just that. My husband and I have two children Kira and Riese. We have raised them differently than we were raised.
I always wanted to own my own business and in 1997 I started my own business. I made good money and helped support the family and we had a great life... at least we thought we were having a great life. Our life was just like everyone around us. We were in debt, worked every day to make ends meet and the business that I thought I owned really owned me. It was a great gig for a while but no pot-of-gold at the end of the rainbow.
With one life challenge after another, it finally dawned on me that something had to change. You have heard it before... for things to change you have to change. That was the key, I had to change.
It hasn't been easy and I wish at times I had started on the path earlier, however, I wouldn't have been ready. I use to think rich people wrote books to get rich, I know a lot of rich people now and that couldn't be further from the truth. They are already rich, they want to help YOU get rich. I don't mean rich in money, which will happen but rich in life too!
After 15 years of owning my own business, I have decided to close it down in (2012) and reopen a new business that resonates with whom I really am and what I really desire to be doing in my life. How scary is that? Real scary and it took me years to figure out how to go about doing it and that I could do it.
I discovered a way to do what I love for FREE with people I love, people I want to help and to make a difference in the world. My son once told me, "the meaning of life is discovering YOUR meaning of life," and he could not have been more right.
We make money by making friends, and we enlarge our circle of friends by making money for them, by helping them, by being of service to them. The first law of success is service.
