Chaos vs Cosmos! For some reason this phrase really hit me. I know people who live in complete chaos and that use to be me. You would not believe the things that were happing in my life because I was not present to my surroundings. I was rushing from one thought to the next and never really appreciating anything good I had in my life. I was constantly wining and pointing the finger at everyone for everything that was happening. It was the banks fault I was over drawn, it was the guys fault that stopped to quickly and I ran into his bumper... this happened 3 times! There are way too many things to list here, and besides I am not that person anymore however, (you are experiencing my future self) now it is easy for me to recognize the chaos in someone else's life. I see how the laws can create chaos if not used correctly.
Imagine you wake up everyone morning with a full pie, you most favorite pie, this is appropriate since it is Thanksgiving and I love pumpkin pie, especially my husbands pumpkin pie! He makes the best. Each encounter during the day you have the choice to give a pice of your pie away! Someone cuts you off on the way to work, you get upset and say a few words and whoops, there goes a piece of your pie. The goal is to keep all your pie and bring it home to your loved ones. If you give it away all day to an employee you made you mad, or your boss says something you didn't like there goes another piece of your pie. We have a saying when someone comes home and they say that had a bad day, we ask them if they gave their pie away. And, if they are in a bad mood of course they gave all their pie away and they have nothing left for those they truly love. Using this example and the pie metaphor has kept me from having a lot of really bad days. I always want to save as much pie as I can for my family. The mental diet, I believe is a life time example of how to live a truly happy life! While, it was apparent to me during the mental diet I could do a much better job. I am still working on my 7 days straight, I am embracing it every day! Thank you for this exercise. I feel I have master much and still have a lot to learn.

Marianne NiehausWe never know what to expect in life... sometimes the darkest moments become the brightest moments. Like you, I have had a life of ups and downs and at certain points in my life I wasn't sure if I could go get much further down. Archives
